Any of you who have seen my son Felix in the practice on a Saturday or during the school holidays will have noticed how tall he has grown in the past year. At over 6 foot and still growing he is getting a bit big for his current boat so at the start of the year we decided it was time for him to transition into a new boat. His choice was the Waszp, a foiling dinghy which rises up on stilts as it gains speed giving the impression of it flying across the surface of the water! You may have seen similar if you saw any of the most recent Americas Cup boats.
It goes very fast which I think was the attraction for a 15 year old boy! I haven’t got any good action shots yet but here he is sailing out at Carsington Reservoir the other week.
