Colours We’re Loving

I’m seeing people become much more adventurous with colour, but that doesn’t necessarily mean choosing something bright. Rich greens, warm tortoiseshells, soft blues and translucent tones can add interest without overwhelming the face.

The right colour can bring out your eyes, warm your complexion and make a frame feel much more individual. I often encourage someone to try a colour they would never have picked from the shelf – those are frequently the frames that surprise them most.

A Return to Beautiful Acetate

There’s something lovely about a really good acetate frame. You get depth, texture and subtle variations in colour that you simply don’t see in a flat, solid frame.

I’m particularly drawn to acetates where you notice something different when the light catches them. They can make a statement, but they can also be incredibly flattering. The colours can soften a stronger shape, bring warmth to the face or pick up tones in your eyes and complexion.

And no two acetates are quite the same. It’s one of those materials that really rewards you for trying frames on rather than judging them on the shelf. It’s about finding the colour, pattern and scale that works beautifully on the person wearing it.

Why Bigger Doesn’t Have to Mean Heavier

Larger frames are still very popular, but people sometimes worry they’ll feel too heavy or dominate their face. They really don’t have to.

Some of the larger frames we’re choosing now are made from titanium and are beautifully light and very well balanced. It means you can enjoy a bolder shape without sacrificing comfort, even if you wear your glasses from morning until night.

The key is getting the proportions right. A larger frame still needs to sit beautifully across the bridge, work with the width of your face and feel balanced behind your ears. Get those details right and you can have that stronger, more contemporary look without ever feeling as though your glasses are wearing you.

The Frames That Don’t Shout

Not everyone wants their glasses to be the first thing you notice, and some of my favourite frames at the moment are actually very understated.

Beautiful materials, an interesting shape or a tiny detail can make a frame special without it being obvious. They’re the sort of glasses that look effortlessly good — you notice the person first and then realise just how lovely their frames are.
