Why should I choose Jacksons Styling Opticians?
Find eyewear you’ll genuinely enjoy wearing
Choosing glasses is a personal decision, and it helps to have clear, honest guidance. These frequently asked questions are here to answer common queries and give you confidence about your eyewear choices at Jackson’s.
Do you have lots of frames to choose from?
Yes — we offer a carefully curated selection of several hundred frames in a wide range of shapes, colours and materials. Our collection is chosen to give you genuine choice without feeling overwhelming, making it easier to find frames that suit your face, personality and lifestyle.
For those looking for something more individual, we also carry bespoke and limited-production collections that aren’t widely available, allowing for a more distinctive and personal choice.
I don't know what would suit me - will you help me choose?
Absolutely. Helping people feel confident in their glasses is a core part of what we do.
We take time to understand how you use your glasses, how you want to feel wearing them, and the styles you’re naturally drawn to. Using our experience with face shape, colouring and proportion, we’ll guide you towards options that genuinely suit you — with clear, honest advice and no pressure.
What happens if I don't like my new glasses?

All frames and lenses are supplied with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty against manufacturing defects, and we provide ongoing aftercare to help keep your glasses fitting and performing well for as long as you wear them.
I just don't suit glasses!
This is something we hear often. Seeing yourself in glasses for the first time — or in a new style — can feel unfamiliar at first.
In most cases, it isn’t about you, but about finding the right frame. The right shape, size and colour should feel natural and balanced, rather than something you’re simply adjusting to. We’ve helped many patients who were certain they didn’t suit glasses discover frames they genuinely enjoy wearing.
Are your glasses expensive?
We focus on value rather than price alone.
Our frames and lenses are selected for comfort, durability, performance and design. While we don’t position ourselves as the lowest-cost option, we do focus on eyewear that wears well, feels comfortable every day and delivers clear, reliable vision over time.
We’ll always explain options and costs clearly, so you can make an informed choice that feels right for you.
Why do glasses need to fit properly?
Fit matters just as much as style. Glasses that don’t fit correctly can feel uncomfortable, move out of position and even affect visual clarity.
We carefully adjust every pair to sit comfortably and securely, supporting clear vision and all-day wear. As your face, prescription or frames change over time, we’re always happy to check and refine the fit to keep your glasses performing as they should
Why invest in premium eyewear?
Your glasses sit at the centre of your face and are worn every day, so it makes sense to choose eyewear that not only looks good, but reflects your personality and how you want to feel wearing it.
Fit matters just as much as appearance. Glasses that don’t fit correctly can feel uncomfortable, move out of position and affect visual clarity. Taking the time to get the fit right makes a noticeable difference to both comfort and confidence.
When it comes to lenses, investing in the most suitable option for your eyes helps ensure clear, comfortable vision in everyday life — whether you’re reading, driving or spending time on screens.
Why use an Independent Optometrist?
If you’re looking for more than a routine visit to the optician, independent optometry offers a different experience.
Rather than focusing on speed or volume, independent practices are built around time, expertise and relationships. The emphasis is on understanding you properly and delivering care that feels considered, personal and genuinely valuable.
At an independent practice, you can expect:
-
Thoughtfully curated eyewear rather than mass-produced ranges
-
Access to advanced, up-to-date eye examination technology
-
Appointments that allow time to listen, explain and tailor care to you
-
A long-term relationship built on trust and continuity
If this approach resonates with you, independent optometry may be the right choice

How do I care for my eyewear?
Caring for Your Glasses
We’ve put together a helpful guide that covers everything you need to know about looking after your glasses properly.
It is worth taking a moment to learn the proper care techniques. Most spectacle lenses are made from lightweight plastic materials, which are safe and comfortable to wear but are more susceptible to scratching than you might expect.
Knowing how to clean them safely makes such a difference. It’s easy to cause tiny scratches without realising if you use the wrong cleaning method. They might not seem significant at first, but over time they can affect the clarity of your vision.
With the right technique and materials, keeping your lenses pristine is perfectly straightforward.
Our guide walks you through the do’s and don’ts, so you can be confident you’re caring for your investment properly.
I don't want separate sunglasses.
If you don’t want separate sunglasses, we suggest photochromic lenses which darken on UV exposure. We recommend Transitions, which are currently the quickest photochromic lenses to change colour.
