I am very proud to announce that Jacksons will soon be stocking “l.a. eyeworks” a bold collection of individual frames for individuals.

Friends, Barbara McReynolds and Gai Gherardi began l.a. Eyeworks in 1979, opening a shop in Los Angeles. Their aim was to challenge the prevailing norms of eyewear with proposals for a new, provocative revelation of the face.

More than three decades and hundreds of frame designs later, l.a.Eyeworks has an expanding legacy of glasses that balances innovation with wearability. L.a.Eyeworks designs are recognisable by their bold shapes and expressive use of colour. Barbara McReynolds and Gai Gherardi’s intention is for you to find a frame that conforms to no fashion sensibility but your own.

“A face is like a work of art. It deserves a great frame.” I had heard about this collection over a year ago and I was so determined to see it in the flesh that I arranged to travel to a trade fair in London in order to have an appointment to view it. However at the eleventh hour I managed to persuade the company representative to come to us, thus saving myself a long weekend away from home. Kate and I spent a couple of hours viewing and selecting a range for Jackson’s that we felt embodied the spirit of the collection.

We love what we have selected and hope that you will too. “We design eyewear to celebrate the diversity of faces and the uniqueness of individuals. The glasses we make are sparks of our imagination. You complete these thoughts and bring the dreams of l.a.Eyeworks into being.” Barbara McReynolds & Gai Gherardi.
